InfraAmericas is pleased to announce its eighth Annual Infrastructure Investors Forum (IIF) Americas.
The demand for core assets across North America has historically been strong and the prices at which many of the assets in transportation have been able to command in recent months have been especially high. However, this has not stopped an ever wider spectrum of institutions, funds and private-equity style investors from taking greater interest in this region or overseas.
Macroeconomic developments and changes of fortune, particularly in the energy sector, have also opened up opportunities. Corporates, who have found their past calculations increasingly out of step with the downward pressure on commodity prices, have sought to offload some assets to funds which had been essentially locked out of a part of a sector by relatively limited opportunities. There is also plenty of new and old money available for a burgeoning renewables sector set to take a much more prominent role in North American energy capacity.
The fact that there are still too few opportunities to match this wall of capital across all sectors of the asset class has forced LPs to become increasingly adventurous. Many have pushed their investment horizons and by extension those of the GPs which serve them into new geographies and non-core areas. It is against this background of new investment frontiers and a reenergized North American market that IIF America’s unique discussion and networking forum will take place in New York this February.
